Kayleigh Corres, Advisor
Adviser Kayleigh Corres is entering her tenth year facilitating various journalism programs across the San Antonio area, and her 23rd year as a member of a journalism program. From the tender age of 10-years-old, Corres found her love for writing, reporting, photography and design in all things journalism, starting as a yearbook student in fifth grade. In junior high, she participated in her school’s broadcasting team, newspaper and yearbook staff, continuing on to high school and fulfilling the role of EIC for The Steele Shield at her alma mater, Byron P. Steele High School in Schertz, TX.
She is excited to be a part of the HCCPHS Journalism program, advising the groundbreaking staff of The Wingspan and establishing the on-campus newspaper with an exceptional group of students. With the expansion of our staff in to broadcast and podcast, she is continually blown away by her students dedication to the craft and their passion for intentional reporting.
All the success of The Wingspan is attributed to the students’ focus, determination and willingness to break down barriers. Corres is looking forward to this year’s staff accomplishments and all the milestones they will meet.
