Grant Robertson came a long way to join this school as a freshman. A computer science enthusiast looking for a future in programming, he found his future right before his eyes after he left his old school.
“The option to get college credit was definitely a want.” Grant Robertson said. “Also, I was a loser and didn’t wanna go back to the same school where my bullies were.”
But after getting to a new school, despite its small size, he ended up seeing that it has a bigger heart that helped him become more open to others.
“We’re ‘just another school,’ but it’s more limited size gave me the confidence boost to be more outgoing and confident,” Robertson said.
After finding a passion in computer science, Robertson began to formulate a plan.
“I’m leaning towards going to college, but I’m still figuring out what I want to do.” Robertson said. “I want to do an internship or something related to computer science. After all, it beats Walmart.”
Even when it comes to a class like English, his least favorite subject, he still finds it enjoyable at this school. One of his favorite teachers even comes from the English department.
“I would say that Mr. Varvel has been really helpful,” Robertson said. “I don’t really like English, but he makes the class more bearable and he’s just a great guy.”
