Camille Hanson is going to save the environment, or at least try to. For now, she wants to take measures to lessen her own environmental footprint, before eventually becoming an environmental specialist.
“I want to help improve our climate and planet, and ensure this society’s longevity,” Hanson said.
Hanson is on her way to Texas A&M, where she plans on majoring in environmental engineering or civil engineering. Her skills revolve around being creative and anything that involves writing. She really likes to have the space to put her own spin on a problem and make it her own.
“I like to be different,” Hanson said.
Looking back on her four years at this high school, Hanson wants to be remembered for something.
“I would like to be known for my personality, my humor and my tendency to work hard,” she said. “I think that being known for who you are and how you treat others is very important.”
Mr. Muenich awarded Hanson the Certificate of Achievement in AP Biology at Senior Award Night where she also won a certificate for written communication. She is also in the top five students among the graduating class, and is in the top 10%.
“Being recognized for my hard work made these past years really feel worth it,” Hanson said.
