Sherlyn Guttierrez’s hobbies run across a wide range from arcade games to horror movies, coloring, and the movie “Tangled.” Like many others in her grade, she started high school online, using this time at home to further explore her interests in the arts. 

   “I took art in middle school,” Gutierrez said. “I continued taking art classes in high school and found that I loved coloring and drawing, particularly clowns.” 

   After high school, she plans to pursue a higher education at Texas A&M San Antonio. Because of the rising gas prices and the school’s proximity to home, she plans on living with her family throughout university.

   “I want to major in psychology,” Gutierrez said, “ But originally I wanted to go into immigration law.”

   This career change occurred in her junior year, as she greatly enjoyed going into psychology, shifting her focus from law to human psychology and care.

   “She really crates about people,” Diego Medina said. “The human mind is very interesting to her, something she enjoys learning about.”
