Creative Writing: Paint

Creative Writing: Paint

Kylie Trexler, Contributing Writer

I paint my body with my negative emotions.

This paint will stay forever no matter how long.

Maybe it’ll be a different form

A different color

A different shape

A different place

But it will be there

Permanent

Unmoving

Not fading.

I paint the floor with my positive emotions.

This paint will not stay forever.

But it may return,

A different reason

A different place

A different shape

Semi-permanent

Moving,

Fading.

No matter where I paint, I feel as though I only paint for you.

You’re permanent.

You’re unmoving.

You’re not fading.

You’re cruel

You’re what makes my body unlovable from my paint

You’re what makes my floor paint fade.
